Watertown

The Watertown ArtWalk is just one of the many products of what has become part of Watertown’s culture.

Watertown is the birthplace of visionaries and philanthropists, that wish nothing more than to cultivate prosperity and quality of life for their home town.

The first stop on Watertown’s leg of the South Dakota Sculpture Trail begins appropriately, in front of the Redlin Art Center, at the crossroads of US Highway 212 and I-29. Terry Redlin’s legacy and majestic gift to the city, serves at a warm reminder of his unprecedented vision and genuine generosity.

From there you will travel to quaint and picturesque Downtown Watertown, which is adorned with nostalgic street lamps and flowers, which lends a certain ambiance to the enjoyment of the collection. Kemp Avenue, is home to the remainder of the sculptures, scattered among the beautiful and historical storefronts. Art goes hand -in hand with history and are easily intertwined by visiting, The Codington County Heritage Museum, or the Goss Opera House, as well as a stroll through Century Art Gallery.

Satisfy your palette with a variety of cuisine, craft brew, burgers, seafood, steak or sushi, at one of our many restaurants or pubs, many within walking distance, then giving in to “guilty pleasure” at our local confectionary / winery, where tasting is not only allowed, but expected!

Watertown, SD is a destination that speaks to the family, bucket-lister, the outdoor adventurer, as well as those feeding their curiosity for history culture and art.
