Sioux Falls Trip Planner
SculptureWalk provides visitors with a host of activities beyond enjoying a $1,000,000 al fresco art public art sculpture gallery. Wherever you decide to start is up to you and free parking is widely available or you can park in one of downtown’s affordable parking ramps. Plan to spend the day!
Things to note along the way
You will find a carefully planned mix of sculptures wherever you are that blends abstract, modern, classical, nature, adult & children’s figurative pieces created by world class artists from around the country and the world.
There are a number of brochures located on lamp posts and in many shops along the walk for you to learn more about SculptureWalk and even vote for your favorite which then becomes a part of the city of Sioux Falls permanent collection.
Build your own experience
Imagine SculptureWalk as an outdoor art gallery that boasts having many restaurants, unique gift shops and even 3 hotels. It’s OK to be distracted from the art and take in the local culture, grab a bite to eat, have coffee or a local craft beer next to an amazing sculpture. The warmer months give visitors many opportunities to dine, drink and relax in outdoor seating along the Walk.
Looking for a unique shopping experience? You’re in luck. Unique shops line the SculptureWalk where you will find everything from local art and beyond. Popular places are Phillips Avenue, 8th & Railroad Center and the East Bank. Be sure and stop by the iconic Zandbroz Variety store on Phillips Avenue for SculptureWalk gifts and souvenirs.
Art, Architecture, Nature
The pedestals are made of local quarried quartzite that compliments the historic quartzite architecture of the region. Downtown Sioux Falls has gained national recognition for its historic architecture and boasts buildings on the National Historic Register.
Looking for a park and open space? There are many sculptures at Falls Park and along the walking/bike trails of the Big Sioux River right downtown.
Spend the Night
It’s easy to spend more than a day on SculptureWalk. There are 3 modern hotels along the SculptureWalk that cater to both families and groups where you can extend your day into night and enjoy the active nightlife of Sioux Falls.
